The 2010 season was the first full year of operation for Geiger Shooting Range. The season opened in March 2010 hosting six open public shoots on Saturdays only. On average these public shoots had 30 to 50 shooters attend each Saturday shoot.
Geiger Shooting Range closed for public use over the summer months to host the annual 2010 Boy Scout Summer Camp season where Camp Geiger experienced a second record year in youth attendance. Over 1,770 youth attend Camp Geiger for Boy Scout Summer camp. Hundreds of Scouts utilized the new shotgun area for the first time while working on their shotgun merit badge. The range was open for Scouts and adult leaders during open periods during summer camp.
The new 3-D Archery course also opened for the first time in late summer 2010. Boy Scouts were able to utilize the new archery course for the first time. The course features a walking path hosting 20 full-size McKenzie North American animal targets. This new course featured a first time Scout tournament as well as outside groups utilizing the course for a day event.
The new Herzog Lodge was completed and provides a true club house feel and experience. This lodge anchors the new Geiger Complex complete for corporate groups to utilize while enjoying a great view from the back deck overlooking the rifle and archery ranges.
